This petition for naturalization, here by made and filed, respectfully shows:

(1) My full, true, and correct name is THOMAS MITCHELL REID

(2) My present place of residence is 427 “I” Avenue, National City, San Diego, California

(3) My occupation is Gardening

(4) I was born on July 14, 1893 in Wishaw, Lanarkshire, Scotland

(5) My personal description is as follows: Sex Male, completion Fair, color of eyes: Hazel, color of hair Grey, height 5 feet 5 inches, weight 132 pounds, visible distinctive marks None; country of which I am a citizen, subject, or national Great Britain

(6) I am married; the name of my wife is Isabella Cumming Reid, we were married on April 12, 192, at Brookline Massachusetts, she was born at Embo, Sutherlandshire, Scotland, on July 23, 1888 and entered the United States at New York, New York on May 7, 1920 for permanent residence in the United States and now resides with me.


(8) I have No children

(9) My lawful admission for permanent residence in the United States was at New York, New York under the name of Thomas Mitchell Reid on Sept 2, 1923 on the S.S. California

(10) Since my lawful admission for permanent residence I have not been absent from the United States, for a period of 6 months or longer, except as follows: Departed from the United States Port: New York, N.Y. Date: 5/9/46 Vessel: “ARGENTINA”; Returned to the United States Port: New York, N.Y. Date: 10/31/47 Vessel: “QUEEN ELIZABETH”


(16) I have resided continuously in the United Stated since 9/2/23 and continuously in the State in which this petition is made for the term of 6 months at least immediately preceding the date of this petition and I have been physically present in the United States for at least one-half of the 5 year period immediately preceding the date of this petition.

(17) I have not heretofore made petition for naturalisation.

I am a citizen of the United States of America; I have personally known and have been acquainted in the United States with the petitioner named in the petition for naturalization of which this affidavit i a part, since at least July 1, 1955; to my personal knowledge the petitioner has resided, immediately preceding the date of filing this petition, in the United States continuously since the date last mentioned; that the petitioner has been physically present in the United States for at least 31 months of that period…
