Special Parents

In observance of National Foster Parents Month, the Warren County Department of Social Services recognized Warren County’s foster parents at a picnic at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Bolton Landing. The Children’s Committee of Warren County was supportive of this special event by making a generous donation.


A special honor was extended to three foster parents who have given exceptional care to sibling groups in order to maintain this special relationship. Commissioner Joseph P. Mendaldino presented special certificates from the New York State Department of Social Services and letters from Governor Mario Cuomo to the honorees, from left to right: Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Smith of Queensbury, Mr. and Mrs. Derry Roberts of Bolton Landing and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Leombruno of South Glens Falls.
